Sambata 2 iunie, ora 16.00 – Cerc de lecturi feministe nonmixt

Reluam intalnirile cercului women and trans*-only si vom viziona documentarul “Life and Debt” de regizoarea Stephanie Black. Ca si in “A Small Place” in care J. Kincaid vorbeste despre Antigua, vedem legatura directa dintre situatia economica si sociala a insulei, mostenirea trecutului ei colonial si frumusetea naturala pe care o observa turistii: “When you sit down to eat your delicious meal, it’s better that you don’t know that most of what you are eating came off a plane from Miami. And before it got on a plane in Miami, who knows where it came from? A good guess is that it came from a place like Antigua first, where it was grown dirt-cheap, went to Miami, and came back. There is a world of something in this…”

Saptamana viitoare, discutam “A Small Place”.
